Local Public Health Budget Campaign
Join us virtually Feb. 26!
MPHA is launching a new campaign to increase money for local public health in the FY26 state budget and we need YOUR help! Please register here to join us on Wednesday, February 26th to learn more about what you can do to help us achieve the level of funding our communities need to support health departments across the state. The state budget process is a great opportunity to educate legislators about local public health, ensuring they understand the role your organizations play in safeguarding Massachusetts communities. Our budget campaign will take place between the months of February - June and may include activities like: attending an event at the State House, meeting your legislator to talk to them about the work of your public health excellence group, and participating in a messaging campaign on social media. Please do not let fear or limited exposure to the legislative process keep you from participating. MPHA is excited to partner with you to answer questions around which types of activities qualify as education v. lobbying, and to provide factsheets, email templates and other tools that help you in your efforts to educate legislators and the general public.
